President Tinubu congratulates D’Tigress for winning 5th consecutive AfroBasket title

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigeria’s D’Tigress for cementing their dominance in African women’s basketball after clinching their fifth consecutive FIBA Women’s AfroBasket title

With a decisive 78-64 win over Mali in the final on Sunday, August 3, the Nigerian side became the first country on the continent to win the championship five times in a row.

In a celebratory post on his verified X handle, President Tinubu hailed the team’s feat as a proud moment for the nation. He also lauded the players and technical crew for their “superb performance.”
