Over 24 Persons Killed As Explosions Rock Offices In Pakistan – Local officials have confirmed that at least 24 individuals lost their lives in two explosions in southwestern Pakistan near the campaign offices of two election candidates.

The initial attack, resulting in 14 casualties, occurred at the office of an independent election candidate in the Pishin district of the Balochistan region, as reported by Sky News.

The second blast, which occurred in Qilla Saifullah near the Afghan border, targeted an office of Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI), a religious party that has been previously subjected to militant attacks, according to the province’s information minister. The responsibility for the attacks remains unclaimed at present.

Various groups, including the Pakistani Taliban and separatist factions from Balochistan, who oppose the Pakistani state, have been responsible for a series of attacks in recent months.

Despite the deployment of tens of thousands of police and paramilitary forces across Pakistan to ensure security following a surge in militant activities, the attacks persisted. Pakistan is currently grappling with a surge in violence leading up to the upcoming general elections.

On Monday, militants launched a pre-dawn attack on a police station in the northwestern Draban region, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 police personnel and injuring six others.

In the preceding week, a national assembly candidate was fatally shot in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and another political leader was killed in his party’s election office in Balochistan on the same day.

Additionally, a bomb attack during an election rally the day before claimed four lives in Balochistan, with the Islamic State claiming responsibility for the incident.
