The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has conferred a chieftaincy title on actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, and also gifted him a brand new car.

Baba Ijesha took to Facebook on Thursday,  July 2 to announce this.

He thanked the monarch for the honour, warm reception, and gifts extended to him and his wife, Afolashade Omiyinka, popularly known as CEO Luminee.

He also revealed that he was bestowed with the chieftaincy title of Baba Awada Konge Oduwa.

This comes months after Baba Ijesha was released from prison for s£xually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

Recall that a State High Court sitting in Ikeja on Thursday, 14th of July 2022 sentenced Olanrewaju James aka Baba Ijesha to 16 years imprisonment for s£xually assaulting a 14year old girl.

He was earlier arraigned before the Court on the 24th of June, 2021 on a six (6) count charge of: S£xual assault by penetration (2014); Indecent treatment of a child; S£xual assault of a minor (2011); Indecent treatment of a child (2015); Sexual assault (2015); Attempted s£xual assault by penetration (2021)

The sentences were to run concurrently, meaning he was expected to serve 5 years in prison.

He only served three years in prison and was released on Saturday, 15 November 2025.

He then quietly got married to celebrity stylist Abiodun Tokunbo, CEO Luminee Couture, and they welcomed a son named King Kagar Omiyinka, shocking Nigerians when they announced it in June 2026, less than 9 months after his prison release.
