An unspecified number of officers are yet to be accounted for after terrorists attacked an outpost manned by the men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ibrahim Leteh village along Wawa–Lumma road in Borgu LGA of Niger State.
The attackers reportedly stormed the area in large numbers and opened fire on the security around 4am on Tuesday, Dec. 23, forcing some men of the civil defence to flee.
Some rifles belonging to the civil defence officers were taken away by the terrorists.
The spokesperson for the Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abubakar Rabiu, said, “We heard a similar report but investigation is still ongoing because until now we cannot establish the extent of what really happened. So, our commandant will speak after the investigation.”
