Odumodublvck shares old video of Davido predicting his Headies ‘Next Rated’ win

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has gone viral after sharing a throwback video of Afrobeats superstar Davido predicting his big win at the 17th Headies Awards.

Odumodublvck, who clinched the highly coveted Next Rated award at the 2025 edition of the Headies, beat out a competitive lineup of rising stars including ShallipopiQing Madi, and Nasboi. The Next Rated category is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious recognitions for emerging talent in the Nigerian music industry, often seen as a launchpad to superstardom.

Meanwhile, adding to the emotional weight of the Headies Awards night, Davido himself was the one who presented the award plaque to Odumodublvck on stage. By this, fulfilling a prediction he made nearly a year earlier.

In a video call dating back to May 14, 2023, Davido is seen expressing his confidence in Odumodublvck’s rising star power. He was telling him: “I am proud of you mehn. That Next Rated, na you go collect am.” A visibly moved Odumodublvck responded with a simple but powerful “amen.”

However, recalling the prophetic moment, the rapper posted the old video clip on his Instagram page after the awards. He captioned it: “THANK YOU JESUS. THANK YOU @the_headies. VIDEO EXTRACT (14/05/2023) THE PROPHECY.”

Lastly, fans and industry peers have since flooded social media with reactions. They are celebrating the rapper’s well-deserved win and the heartwarming friendship between the two artists. The moment has been widely hailed as one of the standout highlights from the 2025 Headies Awards.
