Niger State Youth Leader Stripped of Title for Backing Hunger Protest

The district head of Bosso Local Government Area in Niger State, Muazu Adamu-Laka, has stripped Abdullahi Isah of his traditional title as the Wakilin Matasa Bosso for supporting a planned nationwide hunger protest.

It was reported that the youth leader openly supported the protest, scheduled to begin on August 1, 2024.

The district is part of the Minna Emirate Council.

In a letter dated July 28, addressed to Isah, the monarch known as Hakimi Bosso, instructed him to stop identifying as the youth leader of Bosso.

“I hereby write to inform you that you have been dismissed from your title as Youth Leader of Bosso (Wakilin Matasan Bosso) with immediate effect from July 28, 2024,” the letter reads.

“You should no longer call yourself the Youth Leader of Bosso. I hope you will make use of this information given to you.”

The district head emphasized that the community will not tolerate any actions that could disrupt the peace and stability of the state.
