Manchester United and Napoli have reached an agreement on the transfer fee for Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay.
Napoli has agreed in principle to a deal worth approximately £25 million ($33 million), and McTominay has been granted permission to negotiate personal terms with the Italian club. The 27-year-old midfielder featured in United’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Saturday, coming on as a second-half substitute.
However, McTominay is now on the verge of leaving Manchester United for Napoli after extensive discussions between the two clubs. The deal, reportedly worth around £26 million, is expected to be finalized soon as McTominay works on the terms of his departure.

Sources indicate that the agreement includes a sell-on clause, which would allow United to receive a portion of any future transfer fee if McTominay is sold by Napoli.
McTominay’s most recent appearance for Manchester United came in their 2-1 loss to Brighton on Saturday.
Napoli, who finished 10th in Serie A last season after winning the title in the previous campaign, has been active in the transfer market.
They have already signed Leonardo Spinazzola, Rafa Marin, Alessandro Buongiorno, and David Neres. Additionally, Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is reportedly close to completing a move to Naples.
