My Marriage will be secret – Singer, Joeboy

Spread the love

Nigerian singer Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa-Donus, popular as Joeboy, has expressed his support for early marriage, revealing his desire to marry young and build a family out of the public eye.

Speaking during an interview on the Cocktails & Takeaways podcast with British media personality Madame Joyce, the 29-year-old artist shared that his perspective on early marriage was influenced by comments from Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson, who expressed regret over not marrying earlier despite his public playboy persona.

“I saw an interview of Timini,” Joeboy said during the show. “He’s like the ideal playboy; almost all the girls claim to love him, and he was like, he wished he got married early. I was like, if you’re a playboy and you can say this, that means marrying early might actually be nice.”

The singer emphasized that while age is a consideration, finding the right partner and mutual love remain the core foundation for any marriage.

“Marrying early to someone who you genuinely love is going to be cute,” Joeboy added. “Being 40 and having a 16-year-old kid is cute. But marriage is not really about whenever it feels cool. If it just feels right to you and you love the person, do it.”

Regarding his personal plans, Joeboy stated that he intends to keep any future marriage completely private, revealing that the public will likely only discover his marital status long after he has started a family.

“Personally, I would rather get married early,” he said. “But if I get married right now, nobody is going to know. Maybe when I have like three kids, people will now find out that Joeboy has a whole family somewhere.”
