Museum visitor commits su!cide by jumping to his de@th
A 34-year-old man jumped to his de@th from the Whitney Museum in Manhattan, U.S. on Wednesday afternoon, July 30.
The unidentified man was found on Gansevoort Street outside the Chelsea art museum just before 5:30 p.m., suffering from “injuries indicative of falling from an elevated position,” according to the NYPD.
EMS declared the man de@d at the scene, cops said.
According to sources, the man committed su!cide by jumping from a perch at the art house.
The man was a visitor to the Whitney, according to the museum.
“We are devastated that a visitor lost their life. Our thoughts are with their family and friends, and with our staff, visitors and neighbors who were nearby when it occurred,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
“We are in close contact with the authorities and assisting in any way we can. The Whitney will open on a delayed schedule at 12 pm tomorrow, Thursday, July 31st.”
An investigation into the tragic incident is ongoing.
