Afrobeats sensation Mr Eazi has set social media abuzz after declaring that he is ready to run for president of any African country in need of a visionary and progressive leader.

In a video shared on Snapchat, the Legalize crooner announced that he felt the moment had come to reveal his political ambitions, emphasizing that his motivation was rooted in purpose — not in the pursuit of wealth or power.

“I said it’s time to share it with you guys,” he stated in the video. “Some of you might be from countries in Africa looking for a young president — one who isn’t after money or power but is active, innovative, and capable of moving the country forward. I’m officially putting myself forward for the presidency of whatever country needs me. If your country needs me as president, drop your flag.”

Mr Eazi, who is married to actress and fashion influencer Temi Otedola, encouraged his followers to show support by commenting with their national flags under his post — a symbolic gesture of endorsement for his tongue-in-cheek presidential bid.

The announcement quickly went viral, sparking a wave of reactions across social media platforms. Many fans responded with humor and admiration, flooding the comments section with flags from across the continent. Others expressed genuine excitement, saying they would vote for him if he ever decided to run for office.

While it remains unclear whether the award-winning artist is truly considering a move into politics or simply teasing his audience, his declaration has added an intriguing new dimension to his ever-evolving public persona.

Known for blending music with entrepreneurship and innovation, Mr Eazi has long been an advocate for youth empowerment and creative independence in Africa. His latest statement, whether serious or symbolic, has reignited conversations about the role of young, forward-thinking Africans in leadership.

As fans continue to debate his intentions, one thing is certain — Mr Eazi’s “presidential” revelation has once again showcased his ability to spark conversations that go far beyond music, cementing his place as one of the most dynamic and thought-provoking figures in Afrobeats today.
