Missing Corps member found d3ad under mysterious circumstances in Bayelsa community

A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State Okebaram Stanley Chimaroke, has been found d3ad.

Chimaroke was a former President of the Student Union Government (SUG) of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede and a Civil Engineering graduate.

According to information circulating among colleagues and associates, his lifeless body was allegedly recovered from a body of water in Nembe.

The Bayelsa State Police Command had earlier commenced a search operation following his disappearance in Nembe.

Police sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the missing case was reported at about 8:40 p.m. on July 25, 2026 by Aribisola Bisi Isaac, a corps member serving in Nembe, accompanied by Adeola Marvelous.

According to the report, the Local Government Inspector informed them that the missing 27-year-old corps member, who was posted to serve in Nembe Creek, was last seen at about 8:00 p.m. on July 24.

The sources said repeated attempts to reach him through his mobile phone numbers were unsuccessful, prompting concerns over his whereabouts.

Following the report, police operatives were mobilised to the creek community, located about 45 minutes by boat from the Nembe Divisional Headquarters, to commence search and investigation.

The police said efforts are ongoing to locate the missing corps member and establish the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

As at the time of filing this report, authorities have not officially confirmed the latest development and exact circumstances surrounding his d3ath.
