Mikel Arteta gives Arsenal injury update ahead of Brentford clash
Arsenal fans can ease a sigh of relief after the club’s manager, Mikel Arteta confirmed that Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice are fit for the game against Brentford.
Mikel Arteta was speaking before the London derby during his pre-match press conference. According to the Spaniard, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice are both fit for the game against Brentford.
He said,
“With Dec and Bukayo, they’re both fit. So it was just a matter of two kicks and they recovered well, so they are available for tomorrow.”
Both players played a huge role in the Gunners 3-0 win over Real Madrid on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 with Bukayo winning both the free-kicks that Declan scored from to put us two goals ahead before Moreno rounded it up to make it 3-0.
The England internationals were forced from the field prematurely after picking up knocks in the game.
He also spoke about Riccardo Calafiori who picked up a knee injury while on international duty during the recent break, causing him to miss the game against Fulham, Everton and Madrid.
He said,
“Ricky’s progressing really well. I think giving you a timeline is difficult because he needs to step up, especially having more people around and how he reacts after that. But he’s in a good place.”
Arsenal fans will hope these players will be fit towards the end of the season especially if they progress to the final of the the UEFA Champions League.
