Manchester United Extends Marc Skinner’s Contract as Women’s Team Manager

Manchester United has officially confirmed that Marc Skinner, the manager of its women’s team, has signed a contract extension with the club. The announcement was made on the club’s official website on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

According to the club’s statement, the decision to extend Skinner’s tenure comes as a result of the team’s strong performances in the league and other competitions. Under his leadership, Manchester United Women have continued to grow in stature, establishing themselves as serious contenders both domestically and in European competitions.

Expressing his excitement about the contract extension, Skinner said:

“It has been an absolute privilege to serve as head coach for this fantastic football club for the past four years, and I am delighted to be extending my time in the role for at least a further two years. We are building a young, hungry team with the aim of challenging consistently for further trophies. There is still more hard work ahead, including this season, but the players and staff have already shown their determination to succeed, and I am looking forward to us taking the next steps in our journey together.”

Since taking charge in 2021, Skinner has overseen remarkable progress, guiding the team to its first major silverware by winning the FA Cup last season, after coming close in the 2022/23 campaign. In the Women’s Super League, he led Manchester United to a historic second-place finish in 2022/23, securing UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification for the first time in the club’s history.

This season, the team continues to impress, currently sitting third in the league with the best defensive record. They are also still in contention for another FA Cup triumph, having reached the semi-finals.

With Skinner at the helm, Manchester United Women remain determined to build on their recent successes and challenge for more silverware in the coming years.
