Kylian Mbappe has officially inked a contract with Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe has officially inked a contract with Real Madrid – Real Madrid has successfully secured the signing of Kylian Mbappe, who is set to join on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the upcoming summer, overcoming a late challenge from an undisclosed club.

Although Mbappe’s move to Los Blancos has long been anticipated, the completion of the deal was awaited with caution after past uncertainties in 2022.

Entering the final six months of his contract with PSG, Mbappe, having declined an extension, has reportedly given his commitment to Real Madrid by signing a pre-contract agreement earlier this month.

The deal, revealed by Marca, outlines a five-year contract for the French striker, tying him to the club until the age of 30.

Despite being the highest-paid member of the Real Madrid squad, Mbappe has adjusted some of his salary demands, just surpassing current top earners Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and David Alaba.

While he earned €32 million (£27.3 million) net per season at PSG, his annual earnings at Real Madrid will range between €15 million (£12.8 million) and €20 million (£17.1 million), along with bonuses that increase over the contract’s duration.

The negotiations faced minor disagreements regarding image rights, but Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, successfully navigated the issue to secure a favorable deal. Contrary to previous reports, Mbappe’s signing-on bonus will not exceed €50 million (£42.7 million), emphasizing his prioritization of Real Madrid as a footballing dream destination over financial considerations.

Real Madrid is now planning an elaborate presentation ceremony for Mbappe, aligning with the significance of the acquisition.

The unveiling is expected to take place at the newly redeveloped Bernabeu stadium, scheduled after the start of July but avoiding clashes with the European Championship (June 14 to July 14) or the Olympics (July 24 to August 10). Mbappe aims to participate in both competitions for France.

While reports suggest that another undisclosed club, described as “one of the most powerful clubs on the football scene,” made a late bid to sign Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid successfully secured his commitment.

The identity of this competing club remains undisclosed, but it is rumored to have considered making an offer to PSG’s all-time top scorer in recent days, only to be surpassed by Real Madrid in the negotiations.
