Kylian Mbappe Breaks Nose in France’s Euro 2024 Win
Kylian Mbappe will not need surgery but will wear a mask when he returns to action after breaking his nose in France’s 1-0 Euro 2024 win over Austria on Monday, according to the French Football Federation (FFF).
The injury occurred late in the match when Mbappe collided with Austrian defender Kevin Danso. Despite leaving the pitch with blood streaming from his nose, tests confirmed he won’t need surgery.
FFF President Philippe Diallo confirmed Mbappe would avoid surgery, and the FFF announced a mask would be made for his return after treatment. It’s uncertain if Mbappe will play against the Netherlands on Friday. France coach Didier Deschamps expressed concern over Mbappe’s condition, noting his nose was badly damaged.
