Kendrick Lamar Drops Six-Minute DISS Track

Kendrick Lamar Drops Six-Minute Diss Track Targeting Drake – In the wake of his ongoing feud with fellow rapper Drake, Kendrick Lamar, a distinguished artist honored with the Pulitzer Prize, has taken a bold stance.

Responding to recent provocations from Drake, who ridiculed Lamar for his collaboration with pop sensation Taylor Swift on two distinct occasions, Lamar has retaliated with a blistering six-minute “diss track.” This meticulously crafted piece of art serves as both a testament to Lamar’s lyrical prowess and a direct rebuttal to Drake’s taunts.

Kendrick Lamar, the 36-year-old Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper, made waves with the release of his latest six-minute diss track titled ‘Euphoria’, taking aim at his long-time rival, Drake, aged 37.

The release of ‘Euphoria’ came in response to Drake’s recent onslaught, notably his track ‘Taylor Made Freestyle’, which has since been removed, where he used AI-generated versions of Snoop Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur to mock Lamar’s collaboration with Taylor Swift.

In ‘Euphoria’, Lamar doesn’t hold back, branding Drake a “scam artist” and even addressing rumors of Drake undergoing plastic surgery to sculpt his abs, rapping, “Let your core audience stomach that, Then tell them where you get ya abs from.” The track also sees Lamar openly expressing his disdain for Drake’s mannerisms, style, and fashion choices, warning, “If I catch flight, it’s gon’ be direct.”

This latest exchange in their ongoing feud underscores the competitive spirit within the rap industry and highlights Lamar’s willingness to confront his detractors head-on with his formidable lyrical skill.

Last week, Drake found himself in hot water after releasing his second diss track aimed at Kendrick Lamar, which sparked outrage from Tupac Shakur’s estate.

The track, which utilized AI to recreate Tupac’s voice, prompted swift action from the estate, leading to Drake removing the song from his social media platforms.

In response to a cease and desist letter from attorney Howard King, representing Tupac’s estate, Drake’s team began the process of removing the unauthorized usage of Tupac’s voice from all online platforms. The letter expressed the estate’s deep disappointment and dismay over the blatant misuse of Tupac’s legacy, condemning it as an affront to one of the most revered figures in hip-hop history.

In a stern response, attorneys representing Tupac’s estate deemed the use of AI in Drake’s track a “flagrant violation” and highlighted Kendrick Lamar’s positive relationship with the estate. They emphasized Lamar’s consistent display of respect towards Tupac and his legacy, both publicly and privately.

Setting a 24-hour ultimatum, attorney Howard King, representing Tupac’s estate, underscored that the estate would never have sanctioned the AI recreation of Tupac’s voice. He expressed disbelief that the intellectual property of Tupac’s record label was not utilized in creating the AI imitation of the rapper’s voice on the record.

In the letter, it was further asserted that the contentious track may have also infringed upon publicity rights laws. The estate’s representatives emphasized that the song creates a misleading impression, suggesting that Tupac and his estate endorse or support the lyrics sung by the AI-generated sound-alike.

This added dimension of concern highlights the broader legal implications of Drake’s controversial release and underscores the estate’s commitment to protecting Tupac’s legacy and image.

Kendrick Lamar and Drake stand as two towering figures within the contemporary music landscape, each leaving an indelible mark on the rap genre and beyond.

ABOUT THE TWO

Hailing from Compton, California, Kendrick Lamar emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the early 2010s. His groundbreaking albums, including “good kid, m.A.A.d city” and “To Pimp a Butterfly,” earned critical acclaim for their introspective lyricism, intricate storytelling, and social commentary.

Lamar’s willingness to tackle complex themes such as racial inequality, identity, and spirituality has solidified his reputation as one of the most influential artists of his generation. Furthermore, his Pulitzer Prize win in 2018 for his album “DAMN.” underscored his significance as a cultural icon.

On the other hand, Drake, born and raised in Toronto, Canada, has achieved unparalleled success as a rapper, singer, and songwriter. With chart-topping hits like “Hotline Bling” and “One Dance,” Drake has consistently dominated the airwaves, earning numerous accolades and breaking numerous records along the way.

His seamless blend of rap, R&B, and pop sensibilities has broadened the appeal of hip-hop music to a global audience, solidifying his status as one of the best-selling artists of all time.

Despite their distinct styles and backgrounds, Kendrick Lamar and Drake share a common thread of artistic innovation and commercial success.

However, their relationship has been marked by occasional friction and rivalry, as evidenced by their recent exchange of diss tracks. Yet, beneath the surface, there exists a mutual respect between these two titans of the industry, born out of their shared dedication to pushing the boundaries of music and leaving a lasting impact on the world stage.
