Karim Benzema has reignited hopes among Real Madrid fans after revealing that a return to the club remains a very real possibility—one he would not hesitate to embrace if the opportunity ever arises.

In a new interview, the French striker was asked directly whether he could envision himself reuniting with Real Madrid in the future. His response was clear, emotional, and deeply rooted in loyalty: as long as Florentino Pérez is still at the club, he would never say no.

According to fresh reports, Benzema—who left Madrid in the summer of 2023 after a legendary 14-year spell—is open to a sensational comeback. The 36-year-old forward currently plays for Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, where he has enjoyed remarkable success. After signing a three-year deal, he quickly became one of the league’s standout performers.

During the 2023–24 season, he helped guide Al-Ittihad to a historic domestic double, scoring 25 goals across all competitions and lifting both the league title and the King’s Cup. His impact has cemented him as one of the biggest stars in the rapidly growing Saudi football scene.

Still, despite his success abroad, Benzema’s heart clearly remains tied to Real Madrid.

Speaking to AS, he explained how strong his bond with club president Florentino Pérez remains—a relationship built on trust, loyalty, and mutual respect. When asked about the possibility of Real Madrid calling him back, Benzema didn’t hesitate:

“Why? (Laughs). He’s someone I can never say no to. Florentino is special,” Benzema said.
“If Florentino is still there, it could happen. I talk to him and it’s possible. I’m a Real Madrid fan. I feel it in my soul. Madrid is still my city—I feel like a Real Madrid fan and a Madrileño. We’ll see what happens. If he’s there…”

He went on to reaffirm his enduring affection for the club:

“It will always be my team. I still watch the games whenever I can. It’s the best club in the world. It always has been and always will be. It’s a team with a lot of potential, and I think it can do more than it’s doing right now.”

Benzema’s comments have understandably sent a wave of excitement through the Real Madrid fanbase. Although a return is not imminent—given that he remains under contract with Al-Ittihad—his willingness to come back, combined with his close relationship with Pérez, makes the possibility more realistic than ever.

For a player who won every major trophy with Real Madrid, including a Ballon d’Or, five Champions Leagues, and numerous domestic titles, a reunion would be both emotional and iconic.

And now, by his own admission, the door is very much open.
