Former U.S. President Joe Biden Diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Cancer

Former U.S. President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive and advanced form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, according to an official statement from his office.

The cancer is classified as hormone-sensitive, meaning it can respond to treatments aimed at reducing or blocking the production of male hormones—particularly testosterone—which are known to stimulate the growth of prostate cancer cells.

The diagnosis was confirmed following a series of medical evaluations and imaging tests conducted over recent weeks. Though Biden had previously enjoyed generally good health aside from typical age-related issues, he reportedly began experiencing symptoms such as ongoing back pain, fatigue, and mobility challenges, prompting his medical team to investigate further.

Subsequent testing revealed that the cancer had moved beyond the prostate and metastasized to multiple areas within his skeletal system.

Experts note that bone metastasis in prostate cancer cases can be particularly painful and complex to treat, often requiring a combination of hormone therapy, chemotherapy, radiation, and potentially newer forms of targeted or immunotherapy. Biden’s doctors are currently developing a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to his age, overall health, and specific cancer characteristics.

Despite the seriousness of the condition, the former president is said to be in high spirits and resolute in facing the illness, supported closely by his family and loved ones. A spokesperson emphasized that Biden remains mentally alert and engaged in daily life, although his public appearances may be limited in the coming months to prioritize treatment and recovery.

The announcement has sparked widespread support from political figures, former colleagues, and citizens nationwide. As a significant figure in American political history, Biden’s health journey is expected to garner extensive public interest, with his team committing to regular and transparent updates on his condition.

While prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men, prognosis greatly depends on the stage at which it is diagnosed. In advanced cases such as Biden’s, where the disease has spread to the bones, the focus typically shifts to long-term management—aimed at preserving quality of life and slowing disease progression.

Further information regarding Biden’s treatment and condition is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
