“If you want to talk about Davido all the time, we can’t be friends” — Davido’s sister Sharon lists 13 reasons people may not want to be her friend

Sharon Adeleke, sister of Nigerian singer Davido, has shared a list of reasons why people may not want to be friends with her, including being overly obsessed with her famous brother.

In a video shared online, Sharon said her experiences with friendships have made her more careful about who she allows into her circle.

She explained that it takes her a long time to consider someone a friend because she is “paranoid” about letting people into her personal world.

According to her, she does not allow people to wear outside shoes upstairs in her home and dislikes passive-aggressive behaviour.

She also said she would not go on a girls’ trip with someone who is not organised, explaining that she prefers to plan luxury trips well in advance.

Sharon added that she does not loan money to friends because of past experiences, saying that if she wants to give someone money, she would rather give it to them without expecting it back.

She also said she does not expect to be a friend’s only friend and enjoys spending time alone. She noted that she may forget a friend’s birthday or fail to post them on Instagram without considering it a serious issue.

The businesswoman said she also avoids disorganised outings, particularly in Lagos, because they can be expensive and stressful.

Addressing fans of her brother, Sharon said she has no problem with people being Davido fans, but drew the line at people who talk about him constantly.

“If I feel like you’re too much of a Davido fan… when you want to talk about Davido all the time, we can’t be friends,” she said.

She also listed cliques, possessiveness and entitlement as red flags in friendships, adding that she dislikes “famzing,” which she described as social climbing and forcing oneself into situations.

Sharon concluded by saying she was comfortable with people deciding that her approach to friendship was not for them.
