Osimhen’s Future Uncertain as Napoli Reject Galatasaray’s Third Offer

Victor Osimhen’s future remains a major talking point as the new season draws near, with Napoli reportedly stalling negotiations with Galatasaray.

Nigerian journalist Buchi Labalaba, known to be close to Osimhen, revealed on his official X account on Thursday, July 10, 2025, that Napoli rejected Galatasaray’s third offer—€75 million, which matches the striker’s release clause. Labalaba accused Napoli of deliberately obstructing the deal, claiming the club is trying to push Osimhen toward a move to Saudi side Al Hilal.

According to Labalaba:

  • Osimhen has ruled out a move to Al Hilal and is only interested in joining Galatasaray.

  • He has informed Napoli he won’t report for pre-season and has no intention of playing for them again.

However, concerns over Galatasaray’s financial reliability are reportedly fueling Napoli’s resistance. Turkish media claim Napoli doubts Galatasaray’s ability to pay the full transfer fee, citing past issues with transfer payments.

One example is the transfer of Derrick Köhn from Hannover 96:

  • Galatasaray agreed to pay €3.35 million plus bonuses but initially paid only €1.5 million.

  • Hannover 96 had to escalate the matter to FIFA due to delayed payments.

  • Eventually, Galatasaray settled the debt with interest after facing potential sanctions.

Given this history, Napoli are demanding a bank guarantee for Osimhen’s €75 million fee—a standard measure to protect against non-payment and ensure compliance with Serie A’s strict financial regulations.

With the transfer window still open, both clubs have time to resolve the impasse, but for now, Osimhen’s future remains in limbo.
