Lawyer Deji Adeyanju has provided an update regarding the situation of Nigerian singer Speed Darlington. In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Adeyanju disclosed that Speed Darlington was apprehended by the police in Lagos on Friday, October 4, and subsequently transported to Abuja. The arrest reportedly followed a formal complaint made by fellow musician, Burna Boy.

Adeyanju explained that he and his team spent about 30 minutes with Speed Darlington, during which the singer recounted the events leading to his detention.

According to Darlington, after being taken into custody in Lagos, he was moved from one location to another before eventually being transferred to Abuja, where he has remained in police detention. Adeyanju confirmed that the petition against Darlington was indeed filed by Burna Boy, which led to his ongoing legal predicament.

The petition might be connected with a video Speed Darlington published in September where he questioned Burna Boy’s sexuality.

In the video, Speed Dalington said Burna Boy gained publicity in the US and was even nominated for a Grammy after he became close to embattled singer Diddy. He went on to ask if Burna Boy’s bum was greased with oil after he became close to Diddy.
