Groom and friends d!e in Bauchi auto crash moments before his wedding

A groom-to-be and two of his friends have d!ed in a fatal motor accident one hour before his wedding ceremony in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The incident occurred around 9:00 am on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Bargan Tsamiya village when the groom, SP Mustapha Garba Gumau, a senior police officer, was reportedly enroute from Gumau to Magaman-Gumau for his wedding fatiha scheduled for 10:00 am.

According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle carrying Gumau and his friends veered off the road and crashed, k!lling him and two others identified as Shuaibu Umar and Sulaiman Musa, on the spot.

Several other occupants of the vehicle were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries.
