Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor, Floyd Roger Myers Jr., dies at 42 after suffering heart attack

Floyd Roger Myers Jr. — the actor who once played young Will Smith in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air — has passed away at the age of 42.

His mother, Renee Trice, confirmed the heartbreaking news to TMZ, revealing that he died early Wednesday morning after suffering a heart attack at his Maryland home.

According to her, it wasn’t his first. Floyd had suffered three previous heart attacks over the past three years. She said she spoke to him just the night before his sudden passing.

Floyd made his acting debut in 1992, portraying young Will Smith in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, before appearing as Marlon Jackson in The Jacksons: An American Dream that same year.

In 2000, he had another role as a student in Young Americans — but after that, he seemed to step away from acting.

Outside Hollywood, Floyd devoted his life to helping others. He co-founded Fellaship Men’s Group, an initiative that creates safe spaces for men to discuss emotional and mental health struggles.

He also ran an air duct cleaning business called Dr. Duct, and was a proud father of four.

Floyd was open about his health battles. In 2023, he revealed that he had been in a coma, sharing a photo from his hospital bed and writing, “Just a week ago I was in a coma fighting for my life!! The way my GOD work though. I’m beyond blessed and grateful to be alive!!”

Sadly, fans are now mourning him online.

One wrote, “That’s sad news, so young. Felt like life still had chapters left for him.”

Another said, “42 is far too young. Rest in peace legend.”

“First things first, RIP younger Will,” one fan commented, referencing his memorable Fresh Prince role.
