Florentino Pérez has made a bold election promise, declaring that Ibrahima Konaté will be his first signing if he is re-elected as Real Madrid president this weekend.

According to the club chief, the French defender is already lined up to join next season, with further defensive signings also expected as part of a major squad overhaul.

Konaté, who leaves Liverpool at the end of his contract in 2026, is said to have already reached an agreement with Real Madrid, with only an official confirmation remaining.

The centre-back arrives with more than 180 appearances for Liverpool and a trophy haul that includes the Premier League and domestic cup titles. His expected arrival follows a challenging season for Real Madrid CF, who failed to secure major honours.

Pérez also hinted that Konaté will not be the only defensive reinforcement, teasing a wider rebuilding project and even suggesting the possible return of José Mourinho as part of his campaign vision.
