Enzo Maresca gives update on Cole Palmer’s injury

Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca, has provided an update on Cole Palmer’s condition following the Blues’ Europa Conference League play-off against Servette at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer was spotted leaving the stadium clutching his right hamstring, raising concerns among fans about a potential injury. However, Maresca reassured supporters by downplaying the seriousness of the situation.

He mentioned that while Palmer had felt some discomfort, the initial assessment suggested it was not severe. Maresca also expressed optimism that Palmer would be fit and ready for the upcoming League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He said:

“Cole felt something, but he looks fine. They already checked him, and he looks okay, hopefully it’s not any problem, and he can be available for Sunday’s game.”

Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory in the first leg of their Conference League play-off against Servette, with goals from Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke, giving them a strong advantage heading into the second leg.

The return match is set for Thursday, August 29, 2024, in Switzerland. Before that, the Blues will face Wolverhampton Wanderers in their next league game at Molineux Stadium on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
