Elon Musk unfollows Kanye West on X amid controversy

Spread the love

Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter), has unfollowed rapper Kanye West following a surge of anti-Semitic content on the platform by the rapper.

The move comes after public pressure, including calls from actor David Schwimmer and other users urging Musk to remove Kanye from X.

Elon finally decided to unfollow Kanye.

Kanye commented on the matter, predicting his looming exile from X.

“Elon unfollowed me so I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be on Twitter / X, If I’m taken off go to…” Kanye wrote.

It also appears that Kanye West, who was following only Elon Musk just last week, has unfollowed him.

A look at his X shows that he is not following anyone.

Kanye West’s recent X posts have included references to Nazis, Hitler, and derogatory remarks about Jewish individuals, some even targeting Musk.

On Friday alone, he posted over 20 tweets, including statements such as, “I’m never apologizing for my Jewish comments. I can say whatever the f*** I wanna say forever.”

He further claimed, “Jewish people don’t run me no more,” and, “Some of my best friends are Jewish and I don’t trust any of them,” followed by a laughing emoji.

West has faced multiple suspensions from X over similar remarks. His account was banned in December 2022 after he posted an image resembling a swastika inside a Star of David, which Musk called “incitement to violence.” The account was reinstated in July 2023.

In October 2022, West was suspended for anti-Semitic posts, leading Adidas to terminate its partnership with him. With his latest controversy, speculation grows over whether X will take further action against him.
