Elon Musk Cancels Don Lemon Interview on X
Elon Musk Cancels Don Lemon Interview on X – Elon Musk has abruptly scrapped plans for “The Don Lemon Show” on his social media platform, X, following a recorded interview with the billionaire conducted by the former CNN anchor for its inaugural episode, which has yet to be aired.
Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter), often touts himself as a staunch advocate of free speech. The San Francisco-based company announced on X that, after careful deliberation, it has opted against forging a commercial partnership with the show.
However, it emphasized that Lemon’s program is welcome to share its content on X without any form of censorship, underlining its commitment to providing a platform for creators to amplify their work and engage with new audiences.
In a video shared on X, Don Lemon expressed that “Elon Musk is upset with me” and revealed plans to broadcast his interview with the Tesla CEO on YouTube and through a podcast on Monday.

Lemon refrained from detailing the exact reason behind Musk’s purported dissatisfaction but emphasized, “Throughout our discussion, I consistently emphasized to him that while it may have been tense at times, I believed it was beneficial for viewers to witness and engage in our dialogue, as they could glean insights from our exchange.”
He further stated, “However, it seems that the principle of free speech absolutism doesn’t extend to inquiries about him from individuals like myself.” Subsequently, during a CNN segment featuring Lemon on Monday, anchor Erin Burnett aired excerpts from Lemon’s interview with Musk, during which the Tesla and SpaceX chief exhibited impatience when questioned about content moderation and the proliferation of hate speech on the X platform.
In one segment, Lemon inquired whether Musk felt any obligation for him and his social media platform to regulate hate speech on X. He specifically referenced the dissemination of the “great replacement theory,” a racist ideology which, in its most extreme form, baselessly alleges that Jews are orchestrating a scheme to diminish the influence of white individuals in the United States.
