Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has directed the Community Development Authority to replace the term “Housewife” with “Generation Shaper” on official documents.

This decision was made “in recognition of the immeasurable role of mothers. They shape individuals, values, and the future. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, the foundation of all good,” according to Sheikh Hamdan.

“Mothers are the first school for their children, the place where children learn belonging, responsibility and the values that shape strong nations,” he wrote on X.

Mother’s day was on March 15, 2026.

Dubai’s move to rename “Housewife” as “Generation Shaper” aligns with the spirit of the day, formally acknowledging mothers’ contributions to society.
