Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has accused federal prosecutors of manipulating evidence to unfairly portray him as a greater threat ahead of his upcoming bail hearing. In court documents filed by his legal team, Diddy claims prosecutors presented an altered version of a 2016 surveillance video to the judge, distorting events to bolster their case against him.
The video, allegedly showing a hotel altercation in March 2016 between Diddy and singer Cassie Ventura, has become a central issue in the case. Diddy’s attorneys argue the unedited footage—which they insist the prosecution possesses—provides critical context, portraying the incident as a “domestic dispute” rather than an act of coercion.
They contend the altered video was strategically used to present “the most powerful evidence of danger and obstruction” in a bid to deny their client bail.

In response to claims that he “dragged” Cassie down a hallway or threw a vase at her, Diddy has clarified that he only threw the vase’s contents and insists the footage does not support allegations of coercion or sex trafficking. His legal team characterizes the video as a “sad glimpse into a decade-long consensual relationship” rather than criminal conduct.
Furthermore, Diddy has denied accusations tied to “freak-off” events and sex trafficking, asserting that these claims are part of a calculated effort by prosecutors to paint a misleading narrative. He maintains that their tactics are intended to influence the court’s decision on bail, compromising a fair review of the evidence.
The case has sparked widespread public attention, with the contested surveillance footage at the heart of the debate. Diddy’s legal team continues to challenge what they see as a biased presentation of the facts as his legal battle intensifies.
