Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has once again set social media buzzing after dropping a series of cryptic and confrontational posts on X (formerly Twitter) — messages many fans believe were aimed at his critics and rivals within the music industry.
The timing of his comments has particularly raised eyebrows, coming just as fellow Afrobeats heavyweight Burna Boy faces intense backlash over his behavior at a recent concert in the United States.
Davido fired off several strongly worded posts, suggesting he was addressing people who had wronged or doubted him. One of his messages read:
“Dey fool yourself… my head go soon catch you… everybody go collect from my God.”
He also reshared an older tweet from 2024, which stated:
“Anybody wey do me bad go collect this year one by one … just Dey watch … e don start already.”
In another post, he added:
“Evil human beings… You will learn,”
a statement that further intensified speculation about who the superstar was referring to.
The posts came just hours after Burna Boy trended globally for a controversial moment during his U.S. tour. A viral video showed the “African Giant” stopping his performance to call out a female fan who appeared to be sleeping or disengaged in the front row. The woman was later guided out of the venue by the man who accompanied her.
The incident drew widespread criticism, with many accusing Burna Boy of disrespecting fans. It also reignited past online debates after an old clip resurfaced in which he said he prefers “rich fans” and insisted he does not need anyone’s support.
Although Davido has not directly linked his messages to Burna Boy or the unfolding controversy, the timing of his posts has sparked heavy conversation across social media. Fans and observers are divided, with some insisting the singer is reacting to the ongoing drama, while others believe his posts were general warnings to longtime detractors.
For now, Davido has chosen to remain silent on the interpretations, leaving fans to piece together the puzzle — and fueling even more speculation in the process.
