Davido reveals he and Chioma are pausing childbearing

Nigerian Afrobeats icon, Davido, has revealed that he and his wife, Chioma, are pausing plans to have more children so she can focus on her entrepreneurial pursuits.

In a recent episode of Ride Along With Darryl, Davido shared that following the birth of their three children, he believes Chioma deserves time to pursue her career goals. “I don’t want more children now. My wife and I are taking a break. She needs to get back to work.

She has big plans—like opening her own restaurant and launching her line of spices. After having three kids, I think she deserves a few years to focus on herself,” he said.

The couple, who welcomed twins in 2023 after the heartbreaking loss of their first son, Ifeanyi, are now channeling their energy into Chioma’s growing business ambitions.

Davido mentioned that she’s currently spending more time abroad as she prepares to unveil her spice brand, which is expected to hit major stores across Africa and the diaspora.

Chioma is also planning to open a restaurant, marking the start of what looks to be an exciting business journey. According to Davido, her cooking is “amazing,” and they’re both hopeful that her spice line will become a global hit.
