Catholic influencer Paul J. Kim has announced the heartbreaking death of his five-year-old son, Micah, following an intense health battle that lasted 11 days.

According to Daily Mail, Kim shared the sad news with his followers on January 1, revealing that Micah passed away on New Year’s Eve after complications from a severe case of the flu. The illness reportedly led to sepsis and seizures, and Micah was later placed on life support.

In two emotional videos posted on Instagram, the father of six said his son “went home to the house of our Father” after what he described as 11 long and difficult days. He thanked supporters around the world for their prayers, saying his family felt deeply lifted during the painful period.

According to Kim, the past two weeks had been the hardest experience of his life. While he expressed a desire for privacy to grieve with his family, he said he felt a responsibility to update those who had been praying and standing by them throughout Micah’s hospitalization.

He added that despite their heartbreak, his family remains rooted in faith, asking for continued prayers as they learn how to move forward.

Kim also explained that throughout Micah’s treatment, they explored every possible option, consulting medical, legal, and ethical teams in and outside the hospital. He said the goal was to do everything within their power as parents, even as the situation became increasingly uncertain.

Micah’s health struggle was first made public on December 21, when Kim revealed that his son was rushed to the hospital during a medical emergency. In the days that followed, he regularly asked his followers to pray for a miracle, sharing updates on Micah’s condition.

On December 27, Kim disclosed that scans showed severe brain damage and that doctors believed recovery was medically impossible, leaving the family holding on to faith for divine intervention.

Since the announcement of Micah’s passing, messages of support have continued to pour in, including a public comment from singer Gwen Stefani, who wrote that she was praying for the family. A GoFundMe set up to support Micah’s medical care and family expenses has reportedly raised over $350,000.

The influencer ended his message by asking for prayers for strength, saying their hearts are broken but their trust remains in God.
