Osimhen Picks New Club Amid Chelsea Arsenal and PSG Interest

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has explained why the European champions did not pursue the signing of Victor Osimhen last summer, despite him being a major target for the club.

Los Blancos were among several clubs interested in Osimhen, who had an outstanding 2022/23 season with Napoli, scoring 26 goals in 32 league appearances and playing a crucial role in their title-winning campaign.

Osimhen was considered a potential replacement for Karim Benzema, who departed for Saudi club Al Ittihad. However, the move did not materialize.

Ancelotti, speaking to Radio Serie A, stated, “No, we didn’t sign Osimhen because the club believed that Benzema’s absence could be addressed by acquiring Jude Bellingham.”

The 25-year-old forward, originally from Edo, is expected to leave Napoli this summer.
