Carlo Ancelotti Confirmed as New Head Coach of Brazil National Team
Legendary Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti has officially been appointed as the new head coach of the Brazil men’s national team, famously known as the Samba Boys.
The announcement was made by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) via its official social media platforms on Monday, May 12, 2025.
Ancelotti’s appointment marks a historic moment for Brazil, as he becomes the first-ever foreign manager to take charge of the Seleção in their illustrious football history. The 65-year-old tactician is set to begin his tenure with Brazil’s crucial FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Paraguay and Ecuador in June 2025.
While this is Ancelotti’s first role at the international level, he brings with him a remarkable track record in club football. Widely regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time, Ancelotti is the only coach to have won the domestic league title in each of Europe’s top five leagues—Serie A (Italy), Premier League (England), Bundesliga (Germany), Ligue 1 (France), and La Liga (Spain).
