During his appearance on The Danza Project on Tuesday (May 21), Benzino criticized the lack of support for Diddy and dismissed the significance of the Homeland Security raids on Diddy’s homes, pointing out that they stem from civil lawsuits rather than criminal charges.
“Since when have we handed over one of our own to the system?” he questioned. “This man hasn’t been charged with anything criminally. Not one thing.
They’ve invaded his property with tanks, army men, and National Guards, and he still hasn’t been charged with a single criminal offense to date.”
Emphasizing that Diddy’s accusers are targeting him through civil courts without filing criminal charges, Benzino continued his defense.
“They don’t have one f###### charge yet,” he said of law enforcement. “What bothers me more is how our own people are so quick to hand him over, saying, ‘Here, take him. Lock him up.’ Since when do we do that?”
L.A. District Attorney Comments on Statute of Limitations
It is unclear if Benzino’s interview took place before CNN released disturbing surveillance footage of Diddy violently assaulting Cassie Ventura and his subsequent apology.
The L.A. District Attorney’s Office confirmed that charges cannot be brought in connection with this incident as it falls outside the statute of limitations.
Many of Diddy’s accusers, including Cassie Ventura, have filed lawsuits under the Adult Survivors Act.
