Barcelona has several contractual matters that require prompt attention. The club has previously experienced how even minor oversights can lead to significant issues, and this time, they are determined to avoid such mistakes.

Particularly regarding contract renewals, the Catalan side is fully committed to handling negotiations efficiently. By prioritizing key extensions, Barcelona has already successfully secured new deals for several important players in a timely manner.

Ronald Araujo, Gerard Martin, Pedri, Gavi, and now Pau Cubarsí have all renewed their contracts with the club. However, Barcelona is not finished yet, as there are still other players whose contracts they intend to address. Among them is Jules Koundé, a 26-year-old French defender who remains fully committed to the club and is content with his role.

Despite initial challenges in adapting to his position, Koundé has now embraced his role as a right-back, solidifying himself as one of the best in the world.

According to SPORT, Barcelona is keen on extending Koundé’s contract, which currently runs until 2027, aiming to extend his stay until 2030. While his renewal may not be an immediate priority, it remains an important objective for the club. Securing his long-term future would provide a strong foundation for Barcelona’s defensive stability across all positions.

Beyond Koundé, Barcelona also has reliable defensive options in Héctor Fort and Ronald Araujo. While Koundé remains the first-choice right-back, both Fort and Araujo offer solid alternatives for Hansi Flick.
