Asake’s ‘Terminator’ Earns Silver Certification in the UK

Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake has reached another major career milestone as his hit single Terminator has officially been certified Silver in the United Kingdom.

The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) confirmed the achievement on Friday, August 8, 2025, marking the fourth time the chart-topping artist has received a Silver certification in the region. The recognition cements Asake’s growing presence on the international stage and underscores the global appeal of his music.

Released on August 19, 2022, under YBNL Nation, Terminator quickly became a fan favourite, blending Asake’s signature Afrobeats energy with amapiano-infused rhythms. Its infectious sound and relatable lyrics resonated strongly with UK audiences, driving its sustained popularity over the past three years.

In the UK, a Silver certification signifies 200,000 combined sales and streams — a benchmark that Terminator has now proudly surpassed. The track joins Asake’s growing list of UK-certified hits, further proving his ability to consistently create music that travels far beyond Nigeria’s borders.

Since his breakout, Asake has been at the forefront of the Afrobeats wave sweeping across global charts. His unique style, energetic performances, and consistent hit-making have not only solidified his position as one of Nigeria’s biggest exports but have also contributed to the genre’s increasing dominance in Western markets.

This latest milestone is yet another testament to Asake’s rising star power and the unstoppable momentum of Afrobeats on the world stage. With fans and the industry eagerly watching, the question now is: what’s next for the self-proclaimed “Mr Money”?
