Arsenal Step Up Pursuit of Benjamin Šeško Amid Transfer Breakthrough

Arsenal’s long-standing interest in RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško has taken a decisive turn, with fresh reports confirming that the North London club has entered concrete transfer talks to sign the Slovenian forward.

Following months of scouting and two unsuccessful attempts, the Gunners are now accelerating their efforts to secure the highly-rated 21-year-old, who is expected to leave the Bundesliga side this summer.

Šeško has remained a top priority for Arsenal’s recruitment team, with manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar personally involved in tracking his development. Despite being rebuffed in both May 2024 and during the January transfer window, Arsenal have maintained their pursuit.

The situation has now evolved significantly, with RB Leipzig reportedly resigned to losing their prized asset. Arsenal are keen to act swiftly and position themselves at the front of the race for his signature.

The Gunners are targeting reinforcements in the centre-forward role as they continue to build for sustained title challenges. Šeško’s blend of technical skill, physical presence, and future resale value makes him an ideal fit for the club’s long-term vision.

After netting 14 goals in all competitions for Leipzig during the 2024/25 season, Šeško has drawn attention from several European heavyweights. However, Arsenal’s consistent interest, combined with Arteta’s clear developmental pathway, may give them the edge.

While a deal is not yet finalized, sources suggest negotiations are progressing well, with optimism growing inside the Emirates camp that terms could be agreed soon.

As the summer transfer window gathers momentum, Arsenal appear determined to secure a key attacking addition—one they’ve targeted for over a year—to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

The coming days could be crucial as the Gunners look to wrap up a major signing that could shape their title aspirations.
