Jorginho Set to Exit Arsenal at Season’s End

Former Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is reportedly on his way out of Arsenal at the end of the current season. Renowned transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Gunners have no intention of extending the Italian’s contract, which expires soon.

While earlier reports had linked the 33-year-old with a move to Saudi Arabia, new developments suggest he’s more likely to join Brazilian side Flamengo.

Jorginho arrived at Arsenal in January 2023 on an 18-month deal from Chelsea. However, with Declan Rice’s impressive performances since his arrival from West Ham, Jorginho has found himself on the fringes of the squad.

Why Did Jorginho Leave Chelsea?

In a recent interview, Jorginho shared that he felt his chapter at Chelsea had come to an end.

“It was in the last two days of the window closing, and then I saw that my time at Chelsea was basically finished. I didn’t feel part of the project anymore, and sometimes you just have to accept that and move on.”

Jorginho’s Trophy Cabinet

Before moving to England, Jorginho lifted the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa. His time at Chelsea was trophy-laden, including wins in the Europa League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Despite limited game time at Arsenal, Jorginho has continued to play a vital leadership role, mentoring younger players and maintaining a strong presence in the dressing room.
