Thomas Partey to Leave Arsenal at the End of 2024/25 Season
Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is officially set to leave Arsenal Football Club at the end of his current contract, which is due to expire on June 30, 2025. After several rounds of negotiations, the club and the player were unable to reach an agreement for a contract extension.
Renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news via a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that Partey’s departure from the Emirates is now certain as his deal runs out this summer.
Arsenal Already Looking for Partey’s Replacement
With Partey’s exit imminent, Arsenal have reportedly begun the search for his replacement. According to Romano, the club has made contact with Brentford’s Christian Nørgaard as a potential candidate to fill the gap left by the Ghanaian international. Nørgaard, known for his defensive prowess and midfield intelligence, is seen as a strong option to step into Partey’s role.
Partey’s Impact During the 2024/25 Season
Despite contract uncertainties, Thomas Partey played a key role in Arsenal’s 2024/25 campaign. He made an impressive 52 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists. His performances were crucial in Arsenal’s push for silverware during the season, and he remained a consistent figure in Mikel Arteta’s midfield setup.
Partey initially joined Arsenal in October 2020 from Atlético Madrid, after the Gunners activated his £45 million release clause.
