Brazilian forward Antony is reportedly poised to leave Manchester United during the January 2025 transfer window.

Having not featured in any Premier League starting lineup this season and amid suggestions that he has no future under new manager Ruben Amorim, Antony is said to be on the verge of a loan move to Real Betis.

Earlier in the 2024/2025 season, speculation about Antony’s future gained momentum, though both the player and the club initially dismissed the possibility of a departure.

Addressing the rumored transfer, Antony’s agent, Junior Pedroso, shared insights with GiveMeSport in December 2024:

“Many clubs have approached us regarding Antony’s potential move in January. These clubs wanted clarity on his situation, and I can confirm there’s concrete interest. This move, before the January 2025 transfer window closes, suggests that both parties may have reached an agreement they consider mutually beneficial. Antony’s future remains closely aligned with Manchester United’s interests.

If the club believes a loan in January will help him gain more minutes and rebuild his confidence, we’ll collaborate on that option. Otherwise, Antony is focused on regaining his place and demonstrating his best abilities under the new coach, Ruben Amorim.”

Reports indicate that Antony’s potential loan to Real Betis would run until June 2025, with no purchase option. This suggests that the Brazilian could still factor into Amorim’s plans for the upcoming season.
