Politician Claims Nigerians Prefer Simpler Content as Peller Shares Low Engagement on Quality Work
Nigerians prefer to consume dumbed down foolishness – Politician says as content creator, Peller, reveals he had no views when he delivered quality content in English.
A Nigerian politician has said that Nigerians prefer to consume dumbed down content than intelligent ones.
Content creator Peller granted an interview that sparked a conversation about the kind of content Nigerians prefer to consume.
He stated that when he delivered his content in good English, only his family viewed them. However, he started getting millions of views when he began acting “dull” and creating content in bad English.
As Nigerians discussed this, political activist, Ndi Kato stated that this is the case in almost every sector. She added that any sector trying to reach the Nigerian public always has to dumb down their message.
She wrote: “He is right. This is what we prefer to consume in Nigeria, dumbed down foolishness. The movies, the skits, even business owners no matter what they are selling have to dumb it down for our audience.”

“I started my TikTok with good English but i use to get like 10 views and 5 of them were my family members but when I started going live with my bad English, I started getting more than 2k views, if you want to make it on TikTok, you have to act like a dull person” – Peller pic.twitter.com/ffnqvj6Sg6
