Chelsea reportedly plans to offer two current first-team players to Crystal Palace in a swap deal to secure the signing of Michael Olise.

Last summer, the Blues failed in their attempts to sign Olise despite making a £35 million offer, which they believed triggered a complex release clause in his contract.

This week, Chelsea revived their interest in the attacker by initiating contact with Crystal Palace. Olise’s contract includes a release clause valued at up to £60 million, which he agreed to after rejecting Chelsea’s bid to join Stamford Bridge last year.

According to The Sun, Chelsea is contemplating offering two players as part of their bid for Olise.

According to the report, Chelsea could include Trevoh Chalobah and Noni Madueke in their offer for Michael Olise.

Chalobah, who made 17 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions last season, overcame early-season injuries to establish himself as a regular in the first team from February onwards.

Madueke, also 22 years old, saw significant playing time under former manager Mauricio Pochettino towards the end of the season. Since his £26 million move to Chelsea in January 2023, he has scored goals in 34 matches during his first full season with the club.

Both Chalobah and Madueke have long-term contracts at Stamford Bridge, with agreements expiring in 2028 and 2030, respectively.

Chelsea is reportedly open to including peripheral players in any deal for Olise, with Chalobah and Armando Broja identified as potential components.

Despite interest from Manchester United, who are constrained by a limited budget, as well as Newcastle and Bayern Munich, Chelsea remains confident in securing Olise, a player they have pursued for some time.

Olise is reportedly keeping his options open this summer but hopes for a quick decision on his future before joining the French team for the Olympics next month.

Last summer, Mail Sport exclusively detailed Chelsea’s initial pursuit of Olise amid allegations of ‘tapping-up’ from Crystal Palace. Chelsea made an offer they believed triggered Olise’s intricate release clause.

The Blues’ interest in the winger has unsettled Palace officials, who accused Chelsea of overstepping boundaries in their pursuit last year. Palace communicated their concerns to Chelsea, alleging that their approach breached transfer regulations and norms, resembling an illegal approach.

This summer, however, Chelsea has formally requested discussions with Palace regarding a potential move for Olise.
